Must Haves For Baby

Hey everyone! This week I wanted to share my top must haves for Kennedy.  Everyones must have list for baby differs but these are the things she loves at the moment. =)

Sven:  She adores him and loves watching the movie, Frozen because of all the bright lights and singing.

Teething Necklace:  Kennedy is currently teething and trying to chew on EVERYTHING and while holding her she tries to grab and eat my necklace so this is the perfect solution.

Sakura Bloom Ring Sling:  This is by far one of my FAVORITE baby items! I love baby wearing and once I got the hang of the ring sling, I will not leave home without one (or two).

4Moms mamaRoo:  This swing is the Cadillac of baby swings.  It has not 1 but 5 unique motions, reversible toy balls, built-in sounds (or you can plug up your mp3 player) and a reclinable seat.  We have been using this since we brought Kennedy home from the hospital.

Bob Revolution SE:  This all terrain stroller feels like you are walking on air.  It is so easy to maneuver and you can make the front wheel stationary if you decide to go for a jog.  It folds up nicely and the wheels all come off very easily for better storage.

Play Mat:  There are many different options but the one we have, is the Taggies Bugs 'n Hugs Playgym.  This is where Kennedy really started to roll over and army crawl towards the different toys.

Bumbo:  We LOVE this product! We use it for feedings and in the bath tub.  It is just so easy and also it helped Kennedy learn to sit up on her own.  I highly recommend this for any new mom.

Babylit Board Books:  These are great! Kennedy loves turning the pages and we read to her every day.

Aden + Anais Bamboo Swaddles:  These are the softest blankets you will ever find! We have the swaddles, which are great for summer time and the Dream Blankets, which are 4 layers of bamboo muslin and are amazing for colder weather.

Maileg Mr. Fox and Ms. Deer:  These have been Kennedy's favorite toys since she was about a month old.  We have to thank A Little Bundle for introducing them to us.

Vulli Sophie the Giraffe Teether:  Kennedy has chewed on every single part of Sophie, which makes it so fantastic.

Freshly Picked Moccs: From my last post, you already know these are a must for us!

Laugh & Learn Magical Musical Mirror:  We just invested in this and it is GREAT!! Kennedy giggles at all the songs and loves watching the mirror light up.  She also has a blast playing with the bracelet and comb (she can't quite hold onto the lipstick and powder puff yet).  This toy has helped her sit up on her own without any support.

Avent Soothie:  Kennedy has been using these since she was a month old (I waited that long to establish a good latch while nursing).  We tried a few different pacis, but she would only use the vanilla scented Soothies at first.  These are also the kind that they use at hospitals (if yours still does... ours does not).

So there you have it, our list of must haves for baby.  What is on your must have list?

Until next time.

Fever, oh no...

Happy belated Mother's Day to all you mommas out there! I hope you all had a great day and were spoiled by your loved ones!
Apparently we celebrated a little too much over the weekend because my sweet girl picked up a little sickness last night. She took an extra long nap and woke up a little extra hot than usual but I thought it was just from her long nap. She was totally fine the rest of the day and night and then as soon as we she went to bed I noticed she was extremely hot; hotter than her usual temperature (p.s.- we co-sleep so thankfully I noticed right away) so I took her temp and it was 102! She has never had that high of a temp so I kinda had a freak out and told Daddy to bring down Tylenol ASAP. She took it and fell right back to sleep and slept fine throughout the night. She awoke still burning up so I gave her more Tylenol and just snuggled with her on the couch watching her favorite shows. She acted pretty normal throughout the morning. She drank her milk, ate her usual breakfast and was not extra whiny or anything so I was totally stumped by this sudden fever. At around 11 a.m. her temp was gone and she was back to about 99 degrees. She is napping again now and as I sit here worrying about her and what could be going on with her little body Ive been thinking about all the things I can do to relive her discomfort. Sick babies are the worst. You sometimes feel so  helpless and you would do anything to take their pain away so I have a few helpful remedies to help your little ones when they are not feeling their best.

I know their are some amazing natural remedies (I found this list of some here) to fight off a fever and colds but I grew up in a medical family so that is usually the first thing we do to give some relief to any ailment that might be going on so these are just what help my little girl feel better. I am one of those that hates taking and giving tons of medicine but I try to keep it to a minimum as much as possible. Tylenol really does help, and especially today. It has completely cleared her fever but sadly it did come back as soon as she was up from her nap. It's gone again for the moment but she took a nice cool bath and we have the humidifier going. I'm really hoping this is just a one day thing and doesn't turn into something else.

What are some other good tips to keeping fevers down and other sickies away??

Hello, My Name is Garra and I'm a Moccaholic

If you follow my Instagram, you know I am absolutely obsessed with Freshly Picked moccs! Yes, I am Moccaholic and I truly have an addiction.

I was given the great pleasure of reviewing a pair of their awesome moccasins. What could be better reviewing a product I already absolutely adore?

Freshly Picked in Aruba
A little back story... Susan Peterson is the founder of Freshly Picked, she literally started her company with 200 dollars and it grew from there, after not being able to find cute baby shoes for her kiddos.  She was recently on Shark Tank and then her company really took off.

Back to the moccs.... They are the cutest things I have ever seen and very practical.  They come in sizes 1 (3.60 inches) to size 10 (7.34 inches) and I wish they came in adult sizes (maybe one day... one can wish).

I always recommend sizing up, they will stay on your kiddos feet because of their unique design and elastic around the opening.

Kennedy is currently wearing size 2 and 3s.  The 2s are a tad big on her and the 3s are huge but as said before they stay on because of that elastic at the opening.  When buying your babes clothing and shoes, we all know how fast they grow out of things so I like them big so she can grow into them and we can get more wear out of them.

We decided to have a picnic
They are soft-soled and great for both infants and walkers.  They are made out of real leather and I am super excited for when Kennedy starts walking so I can see how they hold up, I have only heard amazing things.

Kennedy loves her moccs so much, she tries to eat them right now, but then again at 7 months old she tries to put everything in her mouth.

We wear them almost every day and currently Kennedy has 10 pair ... Needless to say she has more shoes than I do.

Freshly Picked has been launching a new color every week for the past couple of months and I highly recommend you check out their Facebook page because they have awesome giveaways with each launch.  I am super excited about the neon pink ones launching later this month, of course I will be getting them!

We had to add some mommy kisses into the mix
Thank you so much to the entire Freshly Picked team for giving me this opportunity to review your products and be sure to follow me on Instagram (@garra_schulze) for a chance to win your very own pair of moccs later this month.  Enjoy!

Until next time.

THE HOSPITAL BAG

Kendalynn was born at 36 & 5. I kind of had my bag packed, but there were somethings that I didn't have. Honestly though, it didn't matter. The hospital provides you with at least 95% of what you need for baby and 50% for you. This is what I literally had in my bag!

MOMMA// maxi dress for going home, nursing tank & nursing pads, shampoo & conditioner, deodorant, toothbrush & toothpaste, comfy shoes, jolly ranchers, robe, face wash, chap stick, bobby pins, & hair ties.

BEBE// several outfits, beanies, mittens, nail file, diapers (even though we couldn't use them. we had to use the premie ones they had there), & a baby hair brush.

DADDY// my hubby is ALWAYS cold. so i already had a beanie, pants, & a jacket for him. he didn't need much because he went home every day to check on our dog & he just freshened up there.

MISC// carseat, boppy, lanolin, charger, & wallet with all insurance cards.

This actually got us by perfectly. I loved everything they gave us, and used it to my advantage. If I were to do it over again, this is exactly what I would pack!

xo,
brittney.
